Hi there,
I'm interested in having a go at some dev work. I'm happy to work on small bugs to begin with and see how I go. A little about me.
I'm a Software Engineer with a Bachelor in Games Programming and worked in the games industry for 6.5 years. I mostly worked on mobile, but have worked in Gameplay programming, engine and server/backend tech. The vast majority of my experience is in C++, using our custom in-house engine, but I'm also very familiar with Unity and Unreal engines.
I no longer work in the games industry but am still programming professionally. I'm also studying a Master of Computer Science and have started a tech startup company on the side. While most my experience is C/C++, I'm also proficient with C#, Java and Javascript (node js), and am familiar with numerous other languages such as TypeScript (Angular), Objective C, action script and lua. I'm familiar with relational databases (MySQL and Postgresql) and a couple of non SQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB, TeraText).
I have a fairly solid understanding of network programming (TCP and UDP), multi-threaded programming, OO design patterns, algorithms and data structures. I'm comfortable programming in Windows, Linux and Mac environments, although I prefer Windows (Visual Studio is the best!)
Why do I want to do this? I've been wanting to do something open source-like for a while. I love WoW (been a retail player since the beginning) and only just discovered this community, which I think is fantastic. I got my own Mangos server up and running and could connect to it, but I felt doing any further 'work' on it would be a waste on a population of 1.

Thanks, hope to join the team! I've been having a scroll through the ScriptDev2 project in Mangos and how it gets information from the database. I'm keen to have a crack at fixing/implementing missing scripted events, if of course I'm accepted.

I've applied to join the getMangos team. Doesn't mean I can't dev here though. And depending on how different the repos are, could actually be advantageous.
