These are the 2 specs that I use:

This is probably the best build to start with. I'm not a fan of Improved Reicarnation (even though I used it during the 5man time right after level 60) since you should have at least 4 Shamans in the raid (where you can coordinate the Ankh CDs) and a couple of warlocks, which makes Improved Reicanation kind of useless later on.

I know tanks are creating aggro but it might happen that your overpowered raidheal makes the enemies want to kill you, so i always give the advice to put like 2-3 points into Healing Grace.

If your raid lacks enhanced melee totems, you can also go for this build:

This makes melee classes love you the most and raidleader will have to deal with the question which melee group has the benediction of your presence. But overall it's a weaker healing build so try to coordinate it with your classeleader or just go for it if you only hang around in random pugs Smiley

You should also check this guide, it helped me a lot when i started to play this awesome class <3

3 comments on the spec that angel posted:
1. i dont really like improved grounding, basically becausel all you need it for pve is twins fight,
where the result is the same if its improved or not (i go for imp shield % cause im a tank)
2. the 2nd spec is a non-healing way spec, which means that improved healing wave isnt useful, so if you go for it id advise you to use the remaining points on healing focus/healing grace (or imp reincarnation if you're viki)
3. currently healing focus 4/5 has exactly the same outcome as maxed (100%), so no need to max it out

however,
i wouldnt advise you to use the 2nd spec if:
a) you dont have at least 3t2
b) you have problems with melee screaming for totems 24/7
c) you have manaproblems
cause both lhw and ch are highly mana inefficient compared to hw.

/w me in game if you have more questions

I just started a shaman and I wanted to ask what the best tree for leveling is. Most people I ask tell me enhancement but is the elemental tree viable?

Obviously, but when learning a new class I prefer normal xp gain. At least until I have a solid handle on fundamentals.

Much thanks! Very thorough.

I'm loving this class so far. So many options and so much flexibility. I really like the elemental tree. I'm used to melee DPS and its a nice change of pace. I'm excited about trying out resto. Never played a healing class.
