Broken Tooth is the best pet I can think of.

Also if you go solo questing and farming, I think Beastmastery is fine - otherwise Marksman

My opinion is that Broken Tooth is the best pvp pet with appropiate spec ofc.If you dont have much gear you can choose BM/MM spec for more control (intimidation and scatter shot) . In pve you can choose the LBRS wolf that gives you the dmg buff. Also in pve if you dont have much gear you should go MM
and here is 2 different MM specs. The first one i think its better IF you are hit capped  and here is the link : http://www.wowprovider.com/?talent=11215875_3_85q5251030513051334e5i or if you lack hit http://www.wowprovider.com/?talent=11215875_3_82q5251030513051334e5c3f (with surefooted ability).

You can find all the answers to your questions in the other threads in this section.

Actually, Beast Mastery is probably the best PvP spec at the moment... (fix hunter pet damage)

Speccing up to 5/5 pet crit and/or intimidation +imp monkey+ deflection +survivalist+surefooted+ other avoidance talents= pvp ownage. the Rake instead of BT does just fine with slightly bigger Claw hits, but 1.2 s autoattack speed (lil bit slower).just have a healer on your side, and GG!

You want a Brokentooth for both pvp and pve while stats remain as bugged as they are currently. ZG bat is an acceptable alternative for pvp but still slightly inferior.

In pve you can choose the LBRS wolf that gives you the dmg buff. Also in pve if you dont have much gear you should go MM

If you do insist on going with a wolf for the howl (you shouldn't, unless you are too bad to control your pet in raids it will almost always be a drop in DPS) you should go with Slavering Worg from SFK and simply tame the LBRS wolf for the max rank howl, rather than keeping the LBRS wolf like a lazy bitch.

This is your PvE Specc - http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#cE000xxZVEozxht - you can situationally move points from Endurance to Improve Revive Pet. As for the suggestions above to specc Surefooted, get Warmonger (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=13052) over nerfing your whole specc

This is your PvP specc - http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#cVVhbxxobtVohtZM - This is presuming you have Brokentooth or ZG bat, anything with slower attack speed you will want to move a point from Humanoid Slaying to Frenzy.

Why i said to choose this spec  here : http://www.wowprovider.com/?talent=11215875_3_82q5251030513051334e5c3f  its because on a starting lvl of raiding u may lack some hit(e.x. you are not hit capped with your starting gear) so u can choose this spec. Also (http://db.vanillagaming.org/?item=13052) is a good item but u may want to use somethign that will benefit your dps .

Also as you quoted my comment about the LBRS wolf i think its good to keep him because its not easy to tame him.Its your opinion what to do with YOUR hunter. In my case where i raid in big instances with a lot Aoe dmg etc. my pet can wipe a whole raid so  I prefer just to use him in ocassional bosses for a small dmg boost to me and my party members.

Anyone who recommends 3/3 surefoot for raiding is fail.  Grab a warmonger (3 hit), grab some real preraid gear instead of greens, and you're g2g.  Honestly, when does a hunter need to be hit 100% hit capped above all else?   Maybe 1 boss in each 40man raid (and that's only if you're low on hunters)?  If you are so bad that you need 3/3 SF, then grab a warlock summon and respec before the tranq boss instead of gimping your dps for an entire raid.

Best raid dps spec is
http://db.vanillagaming.org/?talent#cVi0dZxxVZhxbiMM

Highest dps pet is
http://db.vanillagaming.org/?npc=645

I think u have no idea about hunter class from your comment on this post..
1)u MUST always be hitcapped.Who wanna miss a tranq right?
2)You are probably trolling ..This Pvespec is the worst spec ever....
3)Well i know this wolf but i dont think its the best pve/pvp pet.
4)As i said the only thing that makes me kepp in the lbrs wolf is because its difficult to tame him nothing more.
End of discussion.

Broken Tooth is only as long the best pet as you Unlearn your King Bangalash his abilities once. ==> King Bangalash has, after taimed 1,08s attackspeed atm what makes him > Broken Tooth.
He is supposed to have 1,4s, but I guess that is reported already like all other hunter pets are.

Also I think this list should help you decide what Pet you want. No really new results, except the King Bangalash DPS before unlearned Training Points.

It seems the Charinfo tab does provide valid Data and that you can "overfeed" your Pet.

Feeding the Pet 2x with Roasted Quail although already shown as Happy (Charinfo DPS):
    Broken Tooth             132,7 DPS
    King Bangalash           141,9 DPS
    Lupos                         96,8 DPS
    Sin'Dall                      113,6 DPS
    Tethis                       118,9 DPS
    Bhag'thera                  105,2 DPS
    Echeyakee                   94,8 DPS
    Mazzranache                83,1 DPS
    Zulian Tiger                  91,4 DPS
    Zulian Panther               91,4 DPS
    Razzashi Venombrood      71,1 DPS
    Razzashi Raptor            118,9 DPS
    Araga                         109,1 DPS
    Rekk'tilac                      88,9 DPS
    Barnabus                      92,5 DPS
    Clack the Reaver          101,2 DPS
    Darkmist Widow             88,9 DPS
    Death Howl                   83,1 DPS
    Giggler                        100,5 DPS
    Gretheer                       88,9 DPS
    Greater Firebird            104,8 DPS
    Hayoc                          88,9 DPS
    Ironback                     96,56 DPS                 (It's a Turtle!)
    Krellack                        78,1 DPS
    Kurmokk                      104,2 DPS

To be continued....

What a rebellious cat you got there. That cat would be fun to have in BGs on Blackdecoy.

On Certain fights Lupos might be better because iirc his damage on retail was incorrectly output as shadow damage.

Not on Vg atleast. I also think that is an tbc feature or something strange, I read about it from Dhorn, but aint sure anymore.

EDIT: Ok Im wrong on this one, he should deal Shadow Damage in classic. It just was not shown until some patch. I will check if it is the same on VG.

Although it seems that was changed 2006:
"Lupos is lovely white wolf/worg who used to inflict shadow damage when he attacked. This has recently been changed, so now he is an ordinary white worg. "
http://www.wowwiki.com/Lupos?direction=prev&oldid=293067     as of 19:37, August 27, 2006

EDIT2: And Lupos does melee Dmg on VG, just tested it to be sure.

Get this straight for all times, lupos does not inflict shadow damage as pet as of 1.12.1. Every 12 months a new hunter emerges out of the field and tells that he should. The answer stays no: Search the forum, find countless reports and countless sources that disprove them.

my 2 cents Cheesy
