It works fine

I came back for a bit to check the Classic WoW and the addons.
I can only say I hope I will have more time in the future!

Notepad++ try this one.
Thanks, do you have a downloading link?

I think I solved the "mystery": my rogue is bugged.
My rogue was at level 300 in Leatherworking.
I unlearned Leatherworking and I learned it again. when I reached level 225 I went to Brumn Winterhoof in Arathi Highlands and he still didn't give the quest to me. Then I leveled it to 255 and still the quest is not available. Then I started to think that there might be a problem with my character. Then I came with another toon that has level 300 in leatherworking and I could take the Elemental Leatherworking quest.

Considering that the thread quoted above exists and was read so many times, there might be also many other people having the same problem.

Great guide, thanks!

I think it's worth mentioning that one can replace gun sounds with bow sounds.
The gun sound is nice but after hearing thousands of times it destroys your ears.

http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/gun-click/files/1-gun-click/

The "Sound" folder should be placed in your main WoW folder, not the Data folder.

I checked the Engineering specializations today and I could take [47] Goblin Engineering [47] Gnome Engineering at level 300 in Engineering without any problems.

Why should I unlearn Leatherworking and learn it again just because I got to level 300 in Leatherworking? The cost of materials is very high or it requires a lot of grinding.

The quests should be available at any level in LW above 250
7  Community / General Chat / Re: Multiboxing on: April 12, 2015, 05:33:27 pm
it works sometimes and sometimes it just don't work don't know what's the problem
The script as it is above, is broadcasting keys to three WoW windowses. If you open four WoW windows, then it will broadcast keys only to three of them - it will choose randomly to which three to broadcast.

So make sure you don't have too many WoW windowses open.
And always make sure the script is started. As I said, on my computer it stops when I get out of WoW and surf internet - no idea why. My solution for that is to start it with a shortcut key.

I have an AutoHotKey script that starts when Windows starts (it's in the Startup folder). That script I am using since many years ago, for handy keyboard shortcuts - when I push Win + 1, it starts Google Chrome, Win + 2 starts Firefox and so on. In this script (which is always running), I start the multibox script with a shortcut key (Win + Shift + F). If I notice that my alts do not react, I push Win + Shift + F to make sure the script is started.

In fact, this is why AutoHotKey was created - to help you start programs and do other things using shortcut keys. The multibox feature is just a bonus of AutoHotKey.

Also, inside the multibox script, I have a line that stops the script when I push Win + Shift +G (when you are in game and want to talk with someone, you want to stop the script so you can write properly).

So my multiboxing script looks like this:

Code:
#SingleInstance force

WinGet, wowid, List, World of Warcraft

~1::
KeyWait 1
IfWinActive, World of Warcraft
{
  ControlSend,, 1, ahk_id %wowid1%
  ControlSend,, 1, ahk_id %wowid2%
  ControlSend,, 1, ahk_id %wowid3%
  Return
}

~2::
KeyWait 2
IfWinActive, World of Warcraft
{
  ControlSend,, 2, ahk_id %wowid1%
  ControlSend,, 2, ahk_id %wowid2%
  ControlSend,, 2, ahk_id %wowid3%
  Return
}

;; ------------------ Exit from this script - Win + Shift + G ------------------
#+g:: ExitApp

And my permanent AutoHotKey script (the one that is in Startup and always runs) looks like this:

Code:
#a:: Run cmd
#p:: Run mspaint.exe
#c:: Run Control Panel

#1:: Run "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe"
#2:: Run C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe

;; AutoHotkey Multibox tool for World of Warcraft: - start with Win + Shift + F
#+f:: Run D:\MyFolder\Scripts\WoW-Multibox.ahk

I tried today with another toon that has 255 in Leatherworking and I could get the quest for Dragonscale Leatherworking.

This is strange, the toon that is at level 300 doesn't have any other specialization, he should be able to take the quest too. The Tribal Leatherworking quest was available at level 300, the Dragonscale and Elemental Leatherworking quests should also be available at 300.

Can someone fix this bug pretty please?

Thanks

You need 250 lw
But I'm already at 300 in Leatherworking so he should give me the quest
10  Community / General Chat / Can't learn [Elemental Leatherworking] nor [Dragonscale Leatherworking] (H) on: April 12, 2015, 12:20:28 am
Hello again,

I went to the two trainers for Horde (Brumn Winterhoof in Arathi Highlands and Thorkaf Dragoneye in Badlands) and they don't give the quests needed to learn those specializations.
My toon is level 60 and level 300 in Leatherworking.

I could learn [Tribal Leatherworking] on another toon without any problems.

I see the problem was reported before, in 2012 - here - and that thread was read umm.. 13,323 times

Any chance to fix this bug in a reasonable time?

Thanks
11  Community / General Chat / Re: Multiboxing on: April 11, 2015, 08:36:49 am
script started but when i push 2 the other following characters don't do the same
Make sure the script is active by checking the Tray Bar. On my computer, the script stops  if I check my web browser - no idea if it's a bug what. Maybe it's doing the same on your computer too. In that case, before entering WoW, start the script again.

Try it and come back and let us know how it works. You must try it until you have the tiniest script working. All the rest is much easier after that.
12  Community / General Chat / Re: Multiboxing on: April 11, 2015, 07:07:16 am
Ok, so there are two things you have to do for multiboxing:
A. a few macros - just three elementary macros in fact
B. a program to broadcast keys. There are many options. I am using AutoHotKey

A. The three macros are: FOLLOW, HEAL and ASSIST

FOLLOW:
/tar HyperCore
/follow

HEAL:
/tar HyperCore

ASSIST:
/tar HyperCore
/assist

Create those macros, changing "HyperCore" with the name of your main character. Now drag those macros on your action bars and assign a shortcut key for them.
I am using "Q" for FOLLOW, "H" for HEAL, and "Z" for ASSIST

Of course, only the healers use the HEAL macro, the others use only the other two macros

B. You can see a list of programs good for broadcasting keys at http://wow.gamepedia.com/Multiboxing_software
If you decide to use AutoHotKey, there is a short example script there at http://wow.gamepedia.com/Multiboxing_software#AutoHotKey

Now, the most important thing is to make the script, to get it running and see the first results. You will see how good you feel when you made it work, by making both your characters cast something in the same time.

You just have to copy the script in that example in a file named "Multibox.AHK" - save that file in a place where you keep your documents or your scripts. Make a shortcut to this script on your desktop if you like.

Now start the script by simply double-clicking it. You can check that the script has started and it's running by looking at the Tray Bar (on the bottom bar of Windws, near the clock) - it has a green icon writting a "H" in white ink.
Enter in WoW and push "2" (assign a spell on "2" on both characters) and you should see them both casting that spell in the same time.

Your first script looks like this:

Quote
#SingleInstance force

WinGet, wowid, List, World of Warcraft

~2::
KeyWait 2
IfWinActive, World of Warcraft
{
  ControlSend,, 2, ahk_id %wowid1%
  ControlSend,, 2, ahk_id %wowid2%
  Return
}

Now, assign a spell on the key "2" on both characters and push "2" - both your characters should "push" that spell in the same time.

Note: I have an issue with AutoHotKey, sometimes the script stops and I have to start it again, especially when I get out of WoW and check my browser. Then I have to start the script again. That's why the script should start with "#SingleInstance force" - in order to make sure you have it running only once, even if you started it many times.

Now, if you want to use three WoW characters in the same, then simply duplicate the last line before "Return" and change "2" in "3":

Quote
#SingleInstance force

WinGet, wowid, List, World of Warcraft

~2::
KeyWait 2
IfWinActive, World of Warcraft
{
  ControlSend,, 2, ahk_id %wowid1%
  ControlSend,, 2, ahk_id %wowid2%
  ControlSend,, 2, ahk_id %wowid3%
  Return
}

Now, if you want to also broadcast the "1" key, your script looks like this:

Quote
#SingleInstance force

WinGet, wowid, List, World of Warcraft

~1::
KeyWait 1
IfWinActive, World of Warcraft
{
  ControlSend,, 1, ahk_id %wowid1%
  ControlSend,, 1, ahk_id %wowid2%
  ControlSend,, 1, ahk_id %wowid3%
  Return
}

~2::
KeyWait 2
IfWinActive, World of Warcraft
{
  ControlSend,, 2, ahk_id %wowid1%
  ControlSend,, 2, ahk_id %wowid2%
  ControlSend,, 2, ahk_id %wowid3%
  Return
}

This is a very good addon!

Works ok for me, it's just that it doesn't interact well with Bongos.
I am using Bongos 6.10.30.
I downloaded EnemyBuffTimersVanilla from the link you provided, clicking the "Download ZIP" button.

When I am using abilities pushing the shortcut keys it works fine. But when I'm clicking the mouse over an ability button, I get this error:
"..terface\AddOns\Bongos_ActionBar\actionBar\button.lua:287: attempt to call method 'SetChecked' (a nil value)"

I hope that helps
14  Community / General Chat / Re: Gold farming? on: March 19, 2015, 01:01:04 am
Yes, I think Herbalism is best. Not sure how those people make so much gold to afford paying 25 gold for a stack of [Dreamfoil] and to buy in such large quantities - maybe they pay real cash for gold, who knows. But also Skinning and Mining can make you nice gold.
Alchemy - make one [Arcanite Bar] each 2 days and sell it for 25 to 40 gold a piece (depending on competition).
Leatherworking - make one [Cured Rugged Hide] each 3 days and sell it for 70 to 80 gold a piece.
Tailoring - make one [Mooncloth] each 4 days and sell it for 65 - 90 gold a piece.

Also you can go to Silithus and slay Twilight mobs like Twilight Avenger Twilight Geolord Twilight Stonecaller Twilight Overlord Twilight Master Twilight Flamereaver.
   They drop many [Twilight Cultist Mantle] and [Twilight Cultist Robe] and [Twilight Cultist Cowl] which sell at vendor for good coins or can be used to summon Templars ([Azure Templar] [Crimson Templar] [Earthen Templar] [Hoary Templar]) that drop gloves and boots (like [Abyssal Cloth Handwraps] or  [Abyssal Leather Boots]) that sell at AH for 5 to 9 gold (depends on how big the competition is. Capitalism at work)

Also you can try farming level 20-29 blues and greens - it looks like many people like to make twinks these days. Others simply want to be well geared since playing at low levels. I sold such low level items for nice cash. There is a healthy demand for blue items and green hats, shoulders and backs. Examples:
- [Humbert's Helm] - 9 gold
- [Banded Helm of the Bear] - 7 gold
- [Elder's Hat of the Owl] - 5 gold
- [Emblazoned Hat] - 5 gold
- [Robust Helm of the Eagle] - 5 gold
- [Glimmering Mail Coif] - 4 gold
- [River Pride Choker] - 20 gold
- [Zealot Blade] - 20 gold
- [Troll's Bane Leggings] - 20 gold
- [Burning War Axe] - 15 gold
- [Black Velvet Robes] - 15 gold
- [Basilisk Hide Pants] - 15 gold
- [Frostreaver Crown] - 12 gold
- [Yorgen Bracers] - 9 gold
- [Holy Shroud] - 8 gold
- [Girdle of Golem Strength] - 7 gold

level 30-39:
- [Trickster's Headdress of the Bear] - 7 gold
- [Marauder's Circlet of the Bear] - 5 gold
- [Tigerstrike Mantle] - 20 gold
- [Wolffear Harness] - 15 gold
- [Thornstone Sledgehammer] - 15 gold
- [Blazing Emblem] - 11 gold
- [Poison-tipped Bone Spear] - 5 gold

I got those low level items while farming Silk and Mageweave. But you can aso get such items in Blackfathom Deeps, The Stockade, Razorfen Kraul, Scarlet Monastery, Razorfen Downs - I guess.

Things I haven't done yet (but I plan to do them in the future):
- Farm [Runecloth] and [Mageweave Cloth] and sell at AH
- [Runecloth Bag] sell good it seems.
- Another idea is to farm greens and disenchant them and then sell the dusts. The prices at AH look quite encouraging. I haven't tried it yet so I can't tell you how much demand there is for that though.

So there is healthy amount of options for making gold it seems.
15  Community / General Chat / What's the history of VanillaGaming and AOWoW? on: March 19, 2015, 12:49:35 am
Hello everyone,
I joined VanillaGaming in January this year.

I would like to know a bit of it's history. I understand that:
- the server is up since 2009
- since December 2011, VanillaGaming has a new website - vanillagaming.org
- since September 2013, VanillaGaming has it's own database site

The questions:
- what is (was) the connection between VG and AOWoW?
- What AO (from AOWoW) stand for?
- AOWoW was called Valkyrie some time ago?
