i would quit here if i loose everything, i spend 10-11 years to achieve everything i got here.   i don't go classic because i don't want to start all over. so if i loose everything here there would be no reason left for me to stay.

I think people left VG for classic because

1) more people and hype, shared excitement
2) Fear of missing out
3) looking for another place that gives reward again

Creating the 10th char on VG to gear up gets boring at some point but still we can't leave this game alone because it's still fun on many levels and in different aspects. At the end of the day we feel that we're not finished with this so we try and try again to seek and find what's missing.

Some people think and believe they can find this on classic retail servers. To me there's no real difference in what VG gives you and what retail gives you.
To me the main difference is the population which is a core element of this game and which VG sadly severly lacks at the moment.

Well, Lika and me are coming most likely. I don't know whether Chaba is tanking or dpsing. Dunno if that's enough for you :-)

Logging a acc/char on the other faction is how it's always been. You can't change people and their jerk behaviour so the only thing you can do is raising the barrier of doing malicious things.

To me, VG was always about having raids that work without obvious bugs.
I never valued the blizzlikeness too heavily because encounters have been working in a way that's challenging and fun.

Besides the difficulty given by how VG's encounters were under- and overtuned another advantage is the ease of getting into raiding! All resources were available in rich quantities making it easy to require people to put in some basic level of dedication to farm their stuff without getting into the hassle of fighting over stuff.

Also VG was unique in how it handled multiboxing. The rules didn't change but I don't know whether mboxing/starting to mbox is feasible on the new core.

VG is rampantly overtuned. Check any Raidstats/Legacy Logs and it's easy to compare diff servers

...that is one reason why I switched to Lightshope.

Yeah I've made one to let guildies be able to self-service add/remove them from the reserves list. Players interact with chat commands in /g with the running addon on the 'leader' game client who manages the list.

The list is then printable via another chat command and looks like this:

[12:00:00] Cohle: #cr add
[12:00:00] Liket: +
[12:00:00] Pucchini: #cr list
[12:00:01] Liket: Current Reserves: Pucchini (12:00; 0 EP), Cohle (12:00; 0 EP)

-self service
-auto acknowledges by the leader
-tracks time of enqueueing and EP gained
-all officers can add/remove EP to the reserves
-all officers can remove single reserves
-leader can wipe the list
-everything gets synced among the officers and saved to the WTF files to care for client crashes etc

and a few more advanced features we're not really using
