Have fun with it. Cheesy
2  Off-Topic / Other Games / The "worse" MMOs I have ever played on: March 13, 2013, 09:01:45 am
Admit it, you have played some real stinkers right? Don't list it unless you have actually played it. Site examples; no Game <XXXXX> just sucks ballz! If you do this I will make fun of you and call you gay.

So here is my list to start the ball rolling...

Star Trek Online
  • Loading screens up the ass!
  • Unbalanced factions - can't play a Klingon until level 25 Fed is completed. Too many Feds and not enough Klingons.
  • NO campaigns, just episodes.
  • Ships cannot fly straight up or down in space. They must spiral down or up.
  • Ground combat is horrible, from the poor targeting system, to just running about in the environment is awful.
  • You gamble with "lockboxes" found in drops. You can pay $1 US cash just to open it, like an online casino.

Alganon
  • Only two races Asharr aka Human or Kujix aka Humanish
  • Poor ripoff of the WoW format. Feels like a "dumbed down" version of WoW.
  • Only 4 classes available.
  • Level cap 50 but only if you are fool enough to pay for it.

Entropia Universe
  • Lacks content, campaigns, etc..
  • Grinding for sweat? Free to play must grind, grind, grind...
  • Feels just like Second Life to me... no leveling.
  • Excuse me, my gun fires how many bullets at once!?
  • I think breathing in this game costs you money (aka PEDs) so I flopped down $10 US = 100 PEDs gone poof!!!
  • Lots of media hype about people getting cash for big properties. They also work as developers for the company who made this game.
  • Encourages people to spend real money in the vain hope of getting paid to play.

A Jesuit conspiracy refers to a conspiracy theory about the priests of the Society of Jesus (Jesuit) of the Roman Catholic Church and the Vatican. Made even more popular by this song:

Song Lyrics "End of Days" by Vinnie Paz

Quote
Everybody enslaved, only some are aware
That the government releasing poison in the air
That's the reason I collect so many guns in my lair
I ain't never caught slipping, never underprepared
Yeah, The Shaitan army, they just break it proudly
George Bush the grandson of Aleister Crowley
They want you to believe the lie that the enemy Saudi
The enemy ain't Saudi, the enemy around me
There's fluoride in the water but nobody know that
It's also a prominent ingredient in Prozac
How could any government bestow that?
A proud people who believe in political throwback
That's not all that I'm here to present you
I know about the black pope in Solomon's Temple
Yeah, about the Vatican assassins and how they will get you
And how they cloned Barack Hussein Obama in a test tube

"The Cake is a Lie" is a catchphrase popularized by the game Portal. The AI known as GlaDOS promises your character cake if you complete a gauntlet of deadly puzzles. This phrase is often used to send the message that a promised gift is being used to motivate without any intent of delivering.

1. What do you think about Salomons temple and the black pope?

There are a ton of things like this you can spin your wheels on such as; Sign on Mars, GTA Epsilon Cult, or water fluridation. It don't matter if they are true or false because you have no power to change it. So I tend to ignore them and if they do exist, they leave me alone.

2. What you think about the Pyramids? There are so many different theorys on this one. So share yours Wink
2a. About the graves in the Pyramids and the people in them. Is there anything special with them? Or is it just as simple as Kings tricking "ordinary people" just like today? I mean... This has been going on for thousands of years. How long are we gonna stand by and watch Kings,Queens,Presidents etc TRICK us? And yeah, answer this. Why is a King a King?

World history and science tells us that man was primative and stupid and over several thousand years became vastly intellegent.  I tend to think the opposite is true, that man was vastly intellegent and over  several thousand years became primative and stupid.

3. Muslims believe in Muhammad as the Last Prophet. But some Christians do also believe in Muhammad to be a prophet. such as myself (Catholic). What do you think?

I noticed someone has stated that the Islamic teachings also teach that the one called Jesus (Greek) is also called Isa. But did you know he is supposed to return from Heaven and kill the "false messiah" in the end times according to the Islamic?  I find more similarity between the Islamic and Christians than differences.

4. There is many different opinions on the Government of United states. did they actually sell them selfs out and bomb their own fleet at Pearl Harbor? Did they also bomb their own towers for the oil and money?

If "they" did I fail to see the benefit. The country was plunged further into debt than ever before. Oil and gas prices are still rising and Bush has not been the president for over 4 years now. I would be more inclined to believe that Bush ignored the warnings of an impending attack in order to have a reason to start a war. Obama and his administration was able to put an end to it. But it remains a mess that still needs to be cleaned up. I was not alive during Pearl Harbor... so I won't comment on that theory.

Now for my question; How much LSD did you have before getting on the computer Blondy? LoL

ROFLMAO!!!

I too dropped cable TV for Netflix myself. I must admit I even picked up a few episodes of the lesser Trek's (Voyager/Enterprise) that I missed... however it was better that I missed them, LoL. But lately I have been rewatching 1978 Battlestar Galactica, I never got into the "new and improved" version. The SyFy version made me feel like I was watching "Days of Our Lives" instead of BSG. Even my 19 year old son says the old show is tons better and gets right to the meat and potatoes.

I reinstalled the WoW client and to my surprise my character "Braceblane" Level 42 is still in there... but so is the annoying level 60 warlock that kills you as you ride out of town. Then insults you with bad grammar as he teabags your corps.  Angry

I am afraid all the major game companies do just that plus sell high end graphics cards. The deal goes down like this;

Hello Nvidia how can I direct your call?

This is Megasoft and we are making another shitty game to sell. Can you guys throw tons of money at us and we will make sure it only works with your cards and no one elses.

Of course! Nvidia is the only way to play. We can even give you more cash if you make sure it is only compatible with our latest graphics card.  The Megasucks 9001 has 6 fans and tends to overheat. It costs us $10 US per unit built by slave labor in Botswana then we mark them up to $199 retail.

Hey great, we can get right on that! We will slap your company logo on the software and get started making loading screens for the players to see while they wait for the graphics to load.

Hello K20a!

I really wish I had more time to play on here but this is my Tongue tax season... maybe I will reinstall the client and see if my old characters are flopping about in the database. I doubt it. lol The boys are busy with college and my wife plays mostly on her facebook games these days. I tried to play Cryptic's Star Trek online, but the whole game idea just pissed me off. I am a big fan of the series and they demolish it all without much of an overall plot. Poor faction balance by disallowing Klingon play until you are level 25 Federation. Klingons thus have the fewest players and the worst ships.

So if these people are in charge of Neverwinter, my expectations are pretty low to begin with.  I will do my best to give them positive feedback but I doubt it will make much of a difference.

Hello Spot! Cool to see a familar avatar lol. I wasn't being too serious as you may have guessed.  Grin

Neverwinter by Cryptic has been promising the game release date since 2012. Rolling back a release date is fairly typical of any game. But now that they know it is still in ALPHA they still have early 2013 as a release date... For once I would like a company to be honest and just tell people "We don't know." or extend the date beyond expectation like if you think it might be 2014 tell people 2015 or later.

I didn't use the word sucks... I did tell them some things they might like to fix like my guy and some monsters spawning on roof tops etc.. But it looks all too "WoW like" to be called original. The only thing I did like is the detailed character creation. They have a lot to choose from including; scars, body sculpting, and character biographies. You even choose what God you worship.  But once I started playing it reminds me too much of WoW, Jade Dynasty, and Fable.

There is a built in editor just like their other mmo Star Trek online has called the Foundry. This leads to a few serious problems if you read the forums at Star Trek online. The devs have the players making quests and don't work on any kind of overall plot themselves. The players were making "quickies" so they could benefit from doing a shit load of fast questing but from what I read they made a rule that the quest must be 20 minutes minimum to qualify. The authors at that forum are questioning this ruling.

They have quest trails to follow, the fighting boils down to just hammering your two mouse buttons, keys are akward too. Q,E,R are spell buttons that get in the way of W,A,S,D. I think you have the option to change that, it is just a very akward default setting. I don't feel like I am having to do any "thinking" while playing this game. It is just hammer buttons until your target dies and look for your next quest type of game.

Now for anyone actually drooling over this, it is Free to Play when released. However the company is notorious for adding perks for players willing to pay.  Such as this Founder's Pack for $200 US.

My opinion stay here, play here and give your money to Vanilla Gaming.

Hello, I am glad to see everyone still enjoying Vanilla WoW on Vanilla Gaming. This is the best private server running WoW to my knowledge. I haven't been here (or playing it) for a few years now, but I have been rather busy in other areas. Most recently a game company asked for my opinion on their new MMO and sent me an alpha key.  After playing it for 3 days I told them it sucked, I don't think they cared for my opinion after all. I would tell you the name of the MMO but the NDA won't allow that... so I will say, it will NEVER compare to WoW and it had a release date WINTER of 2012.  I don't mean to be so CRYPTIC but the game company won't allow me to say much without pressing charges.

Have tons of fun see you later!

TexMod beta was written in April 2006 by RStoff and the man fell off the Earth.  So one has the code for the original.  This group is working on a new version from scratch and the new name we are kicking around is Universal Modding Engine or uMod (You Mod) for short.  Since the source code is available this means anyone can compile the source themselves to assure there is no funny business going on.

Also there should be no problems with bans since this is and will be made to work with the Direct X and not the game itself.

uMod <--> Direct X <--> Application

I know WoW has the lua graphic mods that allow people to alter the GUI. However they must learn to program to do this and it is too complicated.  uMod simply extracts the textures while in game so the user can paint their own.  Once saved in a zip archive, uMod then intercepts the graphics inside Direct X and sends out the replacements.  Another benefit to modding games with uMod is neat packages apposed to tearing apart a games database and forever changing the code of the game like they do for GTA mods.

I haven't been around much, been busy with a German programmer who is working on an open source project. This program can wrap texture around any object in any game that uses Direct X. It only took seconds to do this;

That is my Black Stallion.  I ran the Direct X wrapping program first then searched until I found the image. I colorized the image of my horse, reloaded and there it is.

This only modifies the images you can see and will not broadcast those images to others. In short, only I see the purple horse.  Here is the link to the project if you are interested in how this works there is a short 6 minute video on this page --> http://code.google.com/p/texmod/

You can download the program from the download tab. Have fun!

Yes, the people over at AutoHotKey are a bit more tollerant of making use of their software which both are a direct branch off AutoIT.  But like I said in my docs, you will end up getting banned from their forum just for asking about anything game assisted related.

They claim it is done to keep their program off malware listings, but that is a load of crap.  I have downloaded tools that give off false virus warnings and I just put them on the ignore list so I can use them.

I don't really know where else to post this one.  I don't think anyone is "Pathetic" in the game.  But if I handed out the biggest loser award to anyone it would have to go to a rather odd character.  I bump into once in a great while online.  She is a female dwarf who runs around Stormwind telling people that she is their "BIGGEST FAN" then shouts that if you don't respect her hero, they will get their arms and legs ripped off and skull fucked.  I think the character is pretty funny.  It is so obvious a joke and last I knew she was only about lvl 9 or 10.  She also hands out money to players.  Sort of a reverse form of begging. I haven't seen her for awhile now but I haven't been hanging in Stormwind either.
