vg pvp was dead long before they launched the ptr. a working bizzlike standing system in the future is worth more than those 3 wsg pops / week we're missing because of this ptr launch imho
This is the last topic concerning the subject rest will be removed

This wont get added as its not blizzlike which is solely the reason. No server is 100 percent blizzlike and most likely will never be thus i dont understand why this should be in the opinion of the threads creator and excuse start adding custom stuff. We will never start adding custom stuff in any other form thats required as in donations and vote rewards to ensure that the server actually runs and new audience is reached and xp rate in consideration of population. Yes some events have had custom features but temporary and no long term impact on servers blizzlike impression. Events also is a pserver tabu ; in my opinion necessarily it shouldnt be and maybe we wont have custom events once the population gets higher but for now an average size playerbase benefits from them more than loses even if some inviduals might look upon such in dismay due to the custom content which is understandable.
No matter how much some inviduals keep banging their heads to the wall we are a blizzlike realm; and no theres no better alternatives available for that, many different servers excel in many different areas in comparison to others we have ours and others have theirs. VG has more than proven the superb attention to detail on development in regard of naxx wings for example which are incompareable to the quality of other servers.
To the point ; such suggestions that are outrightly custom (permanent quest, buy for lot gold as was suggested in this thread) will always receive the same response. But as erga stated; items obtainable in the past patches (aslong as they werent deleted or changed) or during events held by blizz are possible to be handed out in balanced amounts in certain ingame events for example so dont get all your hopes down.

The accounts security is the players responsibility as its impossible to be compromised by a flaw from our part which do not exist the db is protected and the information of accounts masked ; general policy is we dont restore items or characters deleted by the inattention to that by players , its basic things, dont give your pass to anyone; dont share your acc ; always log the char out when someone else is using your computer.

Next LU, the warsong vendors will require rep to get the neck/ring etc etc, also d2 will not be able to be worn by a 19 anymore, so get your twinks ready and you can forget about buying the warsong items now cause they will automatically be unequipped if you do not have the sufficient reputation for them, add that

Staff / GM / Dev Applications / Changes in Tester application process
|
on: August 31, 2015, 02:27:51 am
|
Hello dear players of Vanillagaming, The staff has recently chosen to loosen up the requirements for testing accounts and testing team positions for active and resourceful testers to maximize the potential of the PTR and testing tools it provides for everything ranging from bigger scale projects to everyday testing and search for new bugs.
Don't hesitate to post your applications now as chances are you will get accepted due to new less strict requirements of history and experience within vanilla wow content for applicant.
However , this doesn't mean that the PTR is open for everyone as a playground of non productive behaviour and the moderation of PTR will be also increased and those caught spending time on the PTR for their own enjoyment could face dire consequences.

Community / General Chat / Re: What's the history of VanillaGaming and AOWoW?
|

AoWOW was a third party hosted database website , nothing else , with the public mangoszero database on it ; which it still has for security and confidentiality purposes ; the history is that zeard bought the domain once it expired from previous owner and redicted it to db.vanillagaming.org
that is the history of it and vg; for aowow i suspect it was probably a live version of the github project mentioned

I suppose because it would make hitting level 60 feel like an accomplishment. That's what has died in current MMOs is that feeling, but it is because of the time it takes, and obviously would cater to a different type of gamer. However, I do understand the need for 15x if that is what makes the server active. It just doesn't register to me though because if you want to play a game in it's natural, original state, that just clearly defeats the purpose, besides being free, which in the tough economic times we are in, I can understand as well.
Also I assume it's a pvp server? I believe a lot of people may have started with the 1x leveling, gotten PK'ed a few times, said "eff this" immediately turned on 15x. Too much player power in my opinion, completely giving in to that McMMO effect that is widespread and rampant.
However! Props to the devs in creating an active server which I could see many people enjoy. I don't believe I will be partaking though. Good luck and have fun.
trust me, you enjoy a lot less immersion of the original game in 1x underdeveloped servers than here, probably the most advanced one. So i really suggest you to partake despite the option for 15x or 1x , sure it felt as an accomplishment back then and still does to level all the way with 1x, but for a brief moment as truly the game only begins at that point, and in my opinion the accomplishment feeling of reaching 60 like that can by no means overcome the quality demand of endgame which your basically setting completely as secondary factor when you roll on any of those small servers, or even on the biggest one if youve for one seen their naxx scripting quality as comparison
